Eligibility (Detailed)

• Educational Qualification: Full-time Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E. / B.Tech) in the relevant discipline from a recognized University/Institute.
  • General / EWS: Minimum 65% marks (or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale) in aggregate in qualifying degree.
  • SC / ST / PwBD / Departmental candidates: Minimum 55% marks (or 5.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale) in aggregate.
• Age Limit: Upper age limit is 28 years for General category as on 05-12-2025. Relaxation as per Government rules: SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen etc. (see official notification for exact relaxations).
• Nationality: Indian citizen.
• Number of Attempts / Experience: Freshers & candidates with experience may apply; check notification for any departmental/experience-specific clauses.

Selection Process (As per Advertisement)

1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on educational qualifications and, where applicable, GATE/discipline-specific criteria mentioned in the notification.
2. Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Test: A CBT covering technical subject knowledge, general awareness, reasoning, quantitative aptitude may be conducted for shortlisting.
3. Interview / Personal Assessment: Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview or personal assessment wherever applicable.
4. Medical Examination & Document Verification: Final appointment is subject to medical fitness and verification of original documents/certificates.

Pay & Training: Management Trainees receive a training stipend during the training period (advertisement indicates ₹50,000/month during training). On successful completion of training, regular absorption as Assistant Manager (E1 grade) with pay scale in the advertised pay band (example: ₹60,000-₹1,80,000) as per SAIL rules.
