BSF Sports Quota Recruitment 2025

The Border Security Force (BSF) has released an official recruitment notification for meritorious sportspersons. This is a fantastic opportunity for athletes who wish to serve the nation by joining BSF as a Constable (General Duty) under the Sports Quota – 2025.

🎯 Eligibility Criteria (Age, Education, & Sports)

Only candidates who meet all three criteria—age, education, and sports qualification—will be considered eligible for the post of CT(GD) Sportsperson.

1. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board

2. Age Limit & Relaxation

  • The age of the candidate must be between 18 to 23 years as of August 1st, 2025.
  • Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories:

    • SC/ST: Relaxable by 5 years.
    • OBC (NCL): Relaxable by 3 years.

3. Sports Qualification

Candidates must have participated or won a medal(s) in the relevant level of competition during the last two years from the closing date of the advertisement (i.e., 04/11/2023 till 04/11/2025).

Eligible achievements include participation or winning medals in:

  • International Sports events recognized by the International Olympic Association.
  • National Games/Championship/National Open Championship recognized by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
  • Junior National Level Championship

Chest Measurement (Male Only)

  • Un-expanded: 80 Cms.
  • Minimum Expansion: 05 Cms.
  • Note: Chest measurements are not required for female candidates.

Vision Standard

  • The minimum distance vision must be 6/6 & 6/9 for both eyes without correction (no spectacles or lenses permitted).
  • Colour blind persons are not eligible for recruitment.

Upload Documents: Candidates must upload copies of all relevant certificates (educational, caste, and most importantly, the sports achievement certificate) to their BSF recruitment profile before applying for the post. Failure to upload the required documents will result in the rejection of the application during scrutiny

  1. Application Fee:

    • Male candidates belonging to General (UR) and OBC categories must pay â‚ą159/-.
    • The fee is exempted for all female candidates and those belonging to the Schedule Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories.

  2. Selection Process: Selection will be based on a merit list drawn from the marks secured for the level of sports achievement (as per Para 4(b) of the notification), followed by Documentation, Physical Standard Test (PST), and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
