Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 23 years
  • Candidate must be born between 02.01.2003 and 01.01.2008 (both dates inclusive). :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}

Age Relaxation

  • SC / ST: +5 years
  • OBC: +3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deducting military service from actual age
  • Children & dependents of 1984 riots victims: 5–10 years (as per category)

Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must have passed Matriculation / Class 10 from a recognised Board

Computer Based Examination (CBE)

  • Objective type, 80 questions, 2 marks each (Total 160 marks)
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer

    • General Knowledge & General Awareness – 20 Questions (40 Marks)
    • Elementary Mathematics – 20 Questions (40 Marks)

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Male (Other than Ladakh): 5 km race in 24 minutes
  • Female (Other than Ladakh): 1.6 km race in 8½ minutes
  • Male (Ladakh): 1.6 km race in 7 minutes
  • Female (Ladakh): 800 metres in 5 minutes

Physical Standards (PST)

  • Height: Male – 170 cm, Female – 157 cm (relaxation for specified categories as per rules)
  • Chest (Male): 80 cm (unexpanded) with 5 cm expansion (relaxation for specified categories)
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

How to Apply for SSC GD Constable 2026

  1. Visit the official SSC website https://ssc.gov.in or use the “mySSC” mobile app.
  2. Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC portal, if not already done.
  3. Login using Registration ID and password, open the Constable (GD) 2026 application.
  4. Fill all details carefully – personal details, qualifications, category, state, force preference etc.
  5. Upload live photograph (as per SSC instructions) and signature.
  6. Pay the application fee online (if applicable) and submit the form.
  7. Take a printout / save a PDF of the final submitted application for future use.
